Frequently Asked Questions and Links

FAQs

Q. Are your courses the same as Red Cross and St John’s Ambulance offer?
A. The work related courses are exactly the same as you would buy from these training bodies. These courses are regulated by the Health and Safety Executive. We offer you a good level of personal service and continuing support after the course.

Q. Do I need any previous experience to attend one of your courses?
A. No, we train people with no experience and those with previous training who are renewing their training. Though to attend work related courses it is important that you can bend and kneel.

Q. Is the Emergency First Aid at Work 1 day course suitable for people who work alone?
A. Yes, this course is very useful for lone workers.

Q. Is there much formal studying on these courses?
A. No not at all, the courses are mostly practical, with various first aid scenarios for practice. On the 1 day course your progress is assessed through the day and on the 3 day course there a more formal assessment of your progress over the 3 days.

Q. Are all your trainers qualified?
A. Yes all our trainers are qualified to train you in First Aid. They are carefully chosen for their training skills and their first aid knowledge.  Their abilities as an instructor are updated and checked every year.

Q. If I train to give First Aid will I be obliged to give First Aid to anyone who needs it ?
A. No, just because you have a First Aid certificate this does not mean that you are obliged to give First Aid, and if you do choose to give assistance it is important that you only give First Aid for which you have been trained to give.
