1 Day Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work

This 1 day course is designed to meet the needs of a Low Hazard workplace or as part of a First Aid team in the working environment.

HSE compliant.

The course 7 hours total (inc 6 contact teaching hours) is to assist people in managing a first aid incident at work.

3 Day Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work 

This course is for those who have a legal requirement to provide First Aid at Work. Whatever your occupational activity this course will give you the First Aid skills for the workplace.

Course Content includes:

Managing an Incident, Primary and Secondary Survey of the Casualty, Placing the Casualty in the Recovery Position, CPR, Managing Choking, Bleeding, Burns, Fractures, Dislocations, Medical Shock, Managing the Unconscious Casualty, Common Medical Conditions eg. Asthma, Allergies, Heart Conditions, Diabetes, Seizures, Poisoning, Head Injuries and Stroke.   
Contents of a First Aid Kit.      
Recording and Reporting Requirements.

2 Day Level 2 Award in Paediatric First Aid

Course Content meets the Ofsted / EYFS requirements for regulated settings which require Paediatric First Aid

Course Content includes:

Dealing with an Emergenc y Choking
Child and Baby Resuscitation (CPR)
Child and Baby Anaphylaxis
Bleeding and Shock
Burns & Scalds
Eye & Ear injuries
Fractures
Childhood illnesses including Meningitis and Febrile Convulsions.

Your performance is continually observed and assessed throughout the two days of the course, with an additional short multiple-choice exam on the final day.

2 Day Level 2 Award in Activity First Aid

This qualification is made up of two units (First Aid Essentials, and Management of Illness and Injury in Activities).

It is designed specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including group leaders, sports instructors, mountain bikers, horse riders and those involved in leisure and recreation.

Course Content includes:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
  • Be able to assess an incident.
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
  • Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.
  • Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking.
  • Be able to manage a casualty with external bleeding.
  • Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock.
  • Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury.
  • Conduct a secondary survey
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head, neck and back injuries
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest and abdominal injuries
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with thermal injuries
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with eye injuries
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • Administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylactic shock
  • Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
  • Know how to provide First Aid to a casualty who is experiencing the effects of extreme
  • heat and cold

Anaphaxis Training

We work to the Anaphaxis Campaign's AllergyWise curriculum.

The objective of Anaphaxis training is to provide school, early years and community setting staff with up-to-date information about managing severe allergies.

Course Content includes:

  • allergen avoidance, early recognition of symptoms and crisis management
  • practical training in the use of adrenaline injectors, so that school, early years and community setting staff could administer an injection in an emergency

    School, early years and community setting staff completing the training will have:
  • improved and updated knowledge in managing severe allergies, including early recognition of symptoms, allergen avoidance and crisis
    management
  • enhanced skills in the use of the adrenaline injectors
